Innovating Our Cancer Support System + Improving Collaborative Care

The Christine B. Foundation’s (CBF) values of creativity, collaboration, and commitment to Eastern Maine were paramount to their nearly 18-months of strategic planning. These values helped craft CBF’s priorities, collectively identified by the board of directors, committee members, partner organizations, and those with lived experience. CBF invested in their community voice across Piscataquis, Penobscot, Hancock, and Washington County surveying the needs of patients and survivors as well as the needs of dozens of community-based organizations, serving cancer patients.

CBF aims to improve collaborative coordination of care with a strong focus on innovating how Eastern Maine’s cancer support landscape functions. This long-term investment is intended to systemically improve care for future generations affected by cancer, ensuring a frictionless and personalized process for receiving complementary cancer support.

Goal 1: Increase awareness of and action to utilize cancer resource and support services across Eastern Maine.

Goal 2: Collectively compile data and leadership to explicitly and systemically improve the outcomes of cancer services in Eastern Maine.

Measure and project equity, empowerment, and education trends of patients/survivors as well as organization leadership/programming.
