June 2026 Impact Report: A Month That Will Shape the Future of Cancer Nutrition

Some months move our mission forward.

Others redefine what's possible. June 2026 was one of those months.

30 for 300 Campaign

We began the month by launching our inaugural 30 for 300 Campaign, an ambitious effort to raise $30,000 to provide comprehensive nutrition services for 300 individuals facing cancer. Thanks to hundreds of generous supporters, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners, we not only reached our goal—we surpassed it.

The momentum continued on June 6, when volunteers gathered at Hannaford Supermarkets in Brewer, Bucksport, Dexter, and Machias for our food drive.

Throughout the day, shoppers donated nearly 3,000 healthy food items while another 246 individuals contributed $2,700 to help stock our medically tailored grocery program. Every donation represented hope for someone navigating cancer treatment.

CBF Team Growing

June also marked an important season of transition for our team. After years of extraordinary service, we celebrated Brian Ross as he concluded his chapter with the Christine B. Foundation. Brian helped build and strengthen our programs, touched countless lives, and leaves behind a lasting legacy that will continue to shape our organization for years to come.

At the same time, we were excited to welcome Ben Wyman as our new Community & Program Engagement Coordinator.

Ben has already begun building relationships with volunteers, patients, and community partners as we continue expanding our impact across Maine.

Community Taking Action

Community engagement remained at the heart of everything we did. We connected with supporters at Bass Park After Dark and hosted our first Dinner with Christine B. of the year at the Maine Savings Amphitheater.

This intimate, sold-out, multi-course dining experience brought our mission directly to the table, with chef-inspired dishes reflecting the nutritious foods included in our medically tailored grocery program. Nearly every guest chose to make an additional gift during the evening, helping push our June fundraising efforts beyond our campaign goal.

Nourishing Hope for 352 Individuals

While these milestones are worth celebrating, our greatest accomplishment remains the people we serve.

During June, the Christine B. Foundation provided comprehensive nutrition services to 352 individuals facing cancer through hospital-based produce prescriptions, home-delivered medically tailored groceries, and oncology nutrition counseling led by our registered dietitian. Every grocery delivery, every counseling session, and every healthy meal represents one less burden for individuals and families focused on treatment and healing.

Finally, June marked a historic milestone that has been years in the making.

After more than three years of planning, collaboration, and implementation, enrollment officially concluded for the Nourishing Hope Clinical Trial. Participating households across Maine will now help researchers better understand how nutrition interventions affect health outcomes and quality of life during cancer treatment. The findings from this groundbreaking research are expected to be published later this year and have the potential to influence how nutrition is integrated into cancer care far beyond our state.

June demonstrated what can happen when an entire community believes that food is medicine, compassion creates change, and every person deserves support throughout their cancer journey.

To every donor, volunteer, partner, patient, and advocate—thank you for making this remarkable month possible. The work continues, and because of you, so does the hope.
